More Than Anything
A Rock Musical
Book, Music & Lyrics by John Rea
Directed by John Rea
Choreography by Liz Fredette

In John Rea’s new rock musical, More Than Anything, a promising teen actress with horrible stage fright is blamed by the queen bee and her minions for the school’s cutting of the music program and their acting dreams because of her painfully embarrassing performance in last year’s high school show. When a dream role in this year’s Grease-like musical is up for grabs the teen must prove to herself, the cast and an eccentric producer who holds the rights to the show that she deserves a second chance.  She employs a quirky boy obsessed with the musical to help her with her anxiety but to no avail – the producer turns them down. So the teen actress must choose to abandon her acting dreams or take matters into her own hands with a risky plan to prove to the producer that she and cast have what it takes to do the musical justice.

At McGuffin my acting improved and my voice strengthened. I even enjoyed doing vocal warm-ups, crunches, and enunciation exercises.
