Youth Classes
Acting (ages 8-11)
9:30 – 11 AM Liz Fredette, instructor
Discover and develop your acting skills. Learn the vocal and physical techniques to bring a character to life. Learn how to make props work for you. Perform monologues and scenes from contemporary plays with other actors in the class.
The Great Acting DISNEY Adventure (ages 5-7)
11 AM – 12:30 PM Liz Fredette, instructor
Act out scenes from your favorite Disney movies. Make rhythms with your body, sing songs and design movements to tell these stories. Build your confidence and express yourself.
Teen Classes (ages 12-17)
Characterization
9:30 – 11 AM John Rea, instructor
Learn the techniques of using the body and voice to create rich characters. Discover how to find the action of a line of dialogue and perform it honestly. Actors will receive training in vocal projection and movement. Scenes and monologues from contemporary plays will be used.
Musical Theatre: Vocal
11 AM – 12:30 PM John Rea, instructor
Learn how to breathe properly and strengthen your voice. Develop your acting to reveal character through your interpretation of the music and lyrics. 16-bar audition songs and group part singing will help take you to the next level of your Broadway training.
Stage Combat: Broad Sword
11 AM – 12:30 PM Brian Cowden, instructor
Did you ever want to be a perform stunts or act in an action or horror sequence? Add another dimension to your acting training. Learn control, precision, timing and the basics of broad sword (a la Lord of the Rings) to build up a repertoire of moves. Students will use professional stage foils. Hurry… class size is limited!
Comedy Improv
1 – 2:30 PM John Rea, instructor
Learn the basics of setting up jokes, timing and how to work off the top of the head. The class is based on the improv games played on the hit television show, Whose Line is it Anyway?

How to Audition

Learn about the audition process. Topics include: putting together a resume, choosing a monologue, acting with others in the audition process, how to find an agent, where auditions are held, and making clear exciting choices on the spot.
Teen Classes (ages 12-17)

Take the basics of set-up, delivery and punch line to a new level. Learn to fully develop your comedic characters. Actors will perform scenes and monologues from classic and contemporary comedies.

Teen Classes (ages 12-17)
Film and Commercial Acting
9:30 – 11:30 AM John Rea, instructor
Learn the basics of acting for film and video production. A digital video camera will be used in class so that actors can learn from their performance. Actors will perform in scenes from popular films and television shows. Learn the acting techniques required for television commercial auditions. Scripts from national and local commercials will be used. All student commercials will be taped and critiqued.
British Dialects & Selling on TV
12 – 2 PM John & Stacey-Kyle Rea, instructors
Broaden your acting training. Learn how to speak with Standard British and Cockney accents. Scenes and monologues from British plays will be performed. Accent tapes will be made available to all students. Also learn how to sell commercially on television using techniques employed on Home Shopping networks.
